Getting Started

What is OMEGA?

OMEGA is a local-first AI agent for macOS with 200+ specialized agents, persistent memory, optional Quantum Neural-Fractal Agentic AI™ (QNFA), and plain-English Automations.

OMEGA runs on your Mac. Your conversations, files, and AI prompts stay on your device unless you explicitly route work to a configured cloud provider. You can bring your own API keys for cloud models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, OpenRouter), connect Codex Subscription or Claude Subscription accounts where supported, or run supported work on local Apple MLX models. Air-gapped deployment is a separately arranged commercial deployment option, not a different in-app feature tier.

Getting Started

How do I start on the free Core plan?

Go to /download, choose Core, create your account, and install. Core is free: no card required, 1 device, free local Omega-MLX models, all 200+ agents.

Core is OMEGA's free plan; we never ask for a card. Go to /download, choose Core, create your account, and install OMEGA on your Mac. Signup verifies your email with a one-time code, and where phone verification is required, you also confirm a mobile phone number with a one-time SMS code. Core includes 1 device for 1 user, free local Omega-MLX models, all 200+ agents, 1 workspace, 3 Automations, 1 Project Canvas project, and 1 Design Studio project. Everything runs on local models, so there is no API bill and your work stays on your Mac. Support on Core starts inside the app: OMEGA's built-in AI support and Diagnostics panel troubleshoot most issues on the spot, at any hour, using your selected model. Beyond that, Core is community-supported: the help articles here cover most setup questions, and the contact form is always open for account, billing, and security issues. When you want cloud models, unlimited projects and Automations, or the always-on runner, start the $7 7-day Pro trial. If you later cancel a paid plan, your account returns to free Core at the end of the period; you keep OMEGA, your data, and local models.

Getting Started

What Mac do I need to run OMEGA?

Apple Silicon (M1 or later), macOS 14 Sonoma or higher, 16 GB recommended (8 GB minimum), 20 GB free disk space.

OMEGA requires Apple Silicon. Intel Macs are not supported. macOS Sonoma (14.0) is the minimum supported version. 16 GB unified memory is recommended for comfortable use; 8 GB is the absolute minimum and may limit which MLX models you can run locally. The app bundle is about 3 GB; the rest of the 20 GB recommendation is for your data, MLX models, and the auto-fine-tuning workspace.

Getting Started

How do I run my first task?

Open the chat panel, type a goal, and OMEGA turns it into clear work for the right agents and tools.

Try: "Summarize the documents in ~/Downloads/ and tell me which ones are time-sensitive." OMEGA will request permission to read the folder. Approve once or always. Watch progress in the right panel as the work proceeds. Results appear inline. The full append-only Action Journal is at the bottom for review.

Getting Started

What are Project Canvas and Design Studio?

Two in-app surfaces included in every plan: Project Canvas takes any idea to a shipped outcome, and Design Studio is a built-in AI design studio that flows designs into builds.

Both ship in every OMEGA plan. Project Canvas is a visual build canvas that takes any idea to a real shipped outcome: an app, website, book, automation, campaign, internal tool, research, or a mix. Describe the idea (a fragment is enough; OMEGA enhances it into audience, outcome, scope, and constraints), bring in existing sources (files and specs, project folders, local folders read straight from disk with no upload, git repositories, and Figma design links), pick the outcome, and OMEGA plans the project as nodes on a canvas and builds it: real code and files, live preview, diffs, terminal, and deploy. You also get runs, artifacts, run history, an integrations panel, templates, and collaborative canvases in shared workspaces. Design Studio is a full visual design studio inside OMEGA: an infinite design canvas with frames, toolbar tools, and document revisions. Start from a design profile (product UI/UX, game design systems, books and publications, or a mixed design system) or open a blank studio mode. Give the AI design copilot your design intent and it creates a coherent, build-ready visual direction (main frame, hierarchy, critical content, interaction states, and an accessible visual system) as concrete canvas edits. Its proposals are bounded, reviewed, and undoable from the toolbar. Design Studio bridges directly into Project Canvas, so you can design it, then build it in the same product. No separate design-tool subscription needed.

Setup & Activation

How do I activate OMEGA?

Sign in with your OMEGA account email and OMEGA verifies your plan (free Core, active subscription, or lifetime entitlement) through your account.

Launch OMEGA and sign in with your OMEGA account email: the one from your free Core signup or the one used at checkout. Activation links this Mac to your account and checks your plan (free Core, active subscription, or lifetime entitlement). Your plan and remaining Authorized Device count appear in Settings → Account.

Setup & Activation

How do I move my license to a new Mac?

Deactivate the old device from your account dashboard to free a seat, then activate on the new Mac.

Lifetime and Pro each permit the Authorized Device count shown for the plan, for one named user. To move: visit /account → Devices → click 'Deactivate' on the old Mac. The device activation is freed instantly. Sign in on the new Mac and activate. Excessive activation/deactivation cycling may be rate-limited to deter seat-sharing.

Setup & Activation

My account is not active after purchase. What do I do?

Sign in with the email used at checkout, then contact support if your OMEGA account does not show the subscription or lifetime entitlement.

Your purchase is associated with the email used at checkout. If OMEGA does not show an active plan, sign in at https://myomega.ai/account and confirm the purchase appears there. If you also lost access to that email address, contact billing support with proof of purchase (Stripe receipt, last four digits of the payment card).

Models & Runtime

What does BYOK mean?

Bring Your Own Keys. You supply API credentials from cloud providers; OMEGA never sees your tokens or charges you per use.

OMEGA does not proxy AI model calls. Your API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, OpenRouter, and others stay encrypted in your macOS Keychain and are used directly by the OMEGA app at the moment of each call. You can also connect Codex Subscription or Claude Subscription accounts where supported so eligible work uses a plan you already pay for. We never store, see, or charge for token usage. You pay providers directly at their list rates, use your subscriptions directly, or run local MLX with no OMEGA markup.

Models & Runtime

How do I add my API keys?

Settings → Models → Cloud Providers, then paste your keys or connect a supported subscription-backed account.

Open Settings → Models → Cloud Providers. For each provider you want to enable, paste an API key or connect a supported subscription-backed account such as Codex Subscription or Claude Subscription. OMEGA validates the connection and stores secrets in your macOS Keychain. Credentials are read only at the moment of an outbound call. You can revoke a key or subscription connection at any time; OMEGA will surface a clear error if access becomes invalid.

Models & Runtime

Can I run OMEGA without any cloud API keys?

Yes. Set Local MLX as the model for every tier slot in Settings → Models to avoid cloud model calls for supported work.

Apple Silicon has enough horsepower to run capable AI models locally via MLX. This is how the free Core plan works out of the box: local models only, no card, no API bill. On paid plans you get the same result by picking a bundled MLX model (or downloading one from Hugging Face) and assigning it to every tier slot (ULTRA_LIGHT, LIGHT, MEDIUM, HEAVY) when you want supported work to avoid cloud model calls. Air-gapped deployment, outbound egress lockdown, and zero-network operating procedures are separately arranged commercial deployment terms.

Models & Runtime

What are tier slots (ULTRA_LIGHT, LIGHT, MEDIUM, HEAVY)?

Four model choices that let OMEGA balance speed, cost, and capability.

OMEGA can use different models for different kinds of work. ULTRA_LIGHT is for instant simple replies, LIGHT is for fast everyday questions and tool use, MEDIUM is for balanced reasoning, and HEAVY is for deep work. You can choose the model for each slot yourself or let Auto pick from your connected keys.

Automations

How do I build an Automation?

Automations → New Automation → describe what you want in plain English, OMEGA generates a draft, then edit visually.

Try: "Every weekday at 8am, summarize my unread email and post it to my journal note." OMEGA will generate a draft Automation with the right nodes wired up. Edit visually: drag-drop nodes, connect outputs, configure parameters. 56+ stock node types, plus unlimited custom nodes you describe in plain English. Click Run for a one-off, or Schedule for recurring. Automations export as portable YAML recipes.

Automations

How do I schedule an Automation to run automatically?

Click Schedule on any Automation, pick cron (every weekday 8am) or event-triggered (when X happens).

Standing orders run on the schedule you set. Cron-based: minute, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, custom expression. Event-triggered: file changed, email received, webhook fired, calendar event starting. Automations can also offload to the always-on VPS runner, so scheduled runs keep going even when your Mac is asleep or closed.

Automations

Can OMEGA connect to external automation systems?

Yes: use Composio, direct MCP, custom HTTP requests, and webhooks from Automation nodes.

OMEGA Automations use connections selected for the current workspace. Use Composio for managed app OAuth, direct MCP for advanced local servers, custom HTTP nodes for APIs you control, and webhooks for inbound or outbound automation. If a connection is not verified, the Automation stays off and explains what needs attention.

Memory & Brain

What is the Brain knowledge graph?

A persistent graph of entities, skills, and outcomes that OMEGA builds across every session.

The Brain links what you've worked on, what worked, what didn't. Hybrid retrieval (vector + sparse + graph) means recall gets sharper over time. The bundled BGE-small-en-v1.5 ONNX embedder runs locally in the app bundle. Causal graph + counterfactual estimates let OMEGA reason about 'what would have happened if I'd done X instead.'

Memory & Brain

What's the difference between micro / meso / macro / meta memory?

Four scales of memory: working context (micro), recent task buffer (meso), long-term recall (macro), and pattern reflection (meta).

Micro is the active conversation context. Meso is recent tasks and intermediate state. Macro is the long-term store, indexed and searchable. Meta is pattern reflection: what worked, what didn't, recurring themes. Dreams (6-phase consolidation) periodically promotes salient items between layers, just like sleep.

Memory & Brain

How does auto fine-tuning work?

OMEGA trains LoRA adapters on your specific patterns and workflows overnight, on your Mac, with zero data egress.

On Apple Silicon, OMEGA uses idle compute (typically overnight) to train LoRA adapters that personalize a small base model to your patterns. Tomorrow's OMEGA is measurably better than yesterday's at YOUR specific work. Zero data leaves the machine. Track progress in Settings → Self-Improvement.

Pricing & Billing

Should I buy Lifetime or subscribe to Pro?

Lifetime is $4,999.99 one-time for power users who want to own OMEGA. Pro ($19.99/mo) is best for short-term use or evaluation before committing.

Lifetime is a one-time $4,999.99 purchase. Limited launch cohorts at reduced pricing appear on the pricing page while they last. Lifetime includes every current paid OMEGA product feature and all updates while OMEGA is actively developed. Pro includes that same paid product while your subscription is active; cancel and your account downgrades to the free Core tier (1 device, 1 user, local models) at the end of the paid period. Both paths support BYOK, Codex/Claude subscription routing where supported, and local MLX, so your AI runtime choice is unaffected by tier choice.

Pricing & Billing

Is there a trial?

Yes. Pro starts with a $7 trial for 7 days, then auto-converts to $19.99/mo Early Access Pro unless you cancel during the trial. Team bills per seat monthly (or annual) with no trial. Lifetime has no trial.

Pro starts with a $7 trial: you pay $7 today for 7 days of full Pro access. When the trial ends it auto-converts to the $19.99/mo Early Access Pro subscription unless you cancel during the trial (via /account, Subscription, Cancel). At checkout you explicitly choose the trial or subscribing now; nothing converts without you having picked it. Between the free-forever Core plan and the low-cost trial you can fully evaluate OMEGA before committing, which is why there are no refunds. Early Access Team is $19.99 per seat/mo, self-select 2–49 seats, with shared workspaces (no trial); annual billing (~2 months free) is available on Pro and Team, and Enterprise covers 50+ seats. Lifetime has no trial. Your model or API spend under BYOK is always separate and yours. Mandatory consumer-protection rights still apply.

Pricing & Billing

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Sign in at /account → Subscription → Cancel. Available 24/7. Takes effect at the end of your current Billing Cycle, then your account downgrades to the free Core tier.

Cancellation is single-click and available 24/7. You retain full access through the end of the current Billing Cycle (you've already paid for it). After that, your account downgrades to the free Core tier (1 device, 1 user, local models, no card): you keep OMEGA, your data, and local models; paid capabilities stop. No refund for partial cycles. You can resubscribe at any time, but the $7 introductory trial is available only on your first Pro sign-up.

Pricing & Billing

Does OMEGA offer refunds?

No. The free Core plan and the $7 7-day Pro trial are the evaluation path (cancel during the trial and you are not charged the monthly fee). All charges are final.

OMEGA does not offer refunds, because nobody has to pay before knowing OMEGA fits: the Core plan is free, and Pro starts with a $7 trial for 7 days so you can evaluate the full product at low cost. Cancel during the trial and you are not charged the $19.99/mo subscription; if you don't cancel, the trial auto-converts to the monthly subscription. All charges are final: subscription payments, renewals, additional seats, and Lifetime purchases are non-refundable, and OMEGA never bills for the model or API spend you incur with your own providers under BYOK. Cancelling never strands you and never triggers a refund; instead, your account downgrades to the free Core tier at the end of the paid period, keeping OMEGA, your data, and local models, and you can resubscribe anytime. See the full Refund Policy at /refund-policy. Mandatory consumer-protection statutes (EU, UK, Quebec, certain US states) still apply and override this policy where they grant non-waivable rights.

Privacy & Security

Where is my data stored?

On your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/OMEGA/. Encrypted at rest. We have zero copies on our servers.

OMEGA is local-first. Conversations, memory, files, workflows, agent configs: all in your local Application Support folder, encrypted with macOS Keychain-derived keys. The bundled Postgres lives at a Unix socket only your user can access. We literally cannot read your data. We have no copy.

Privacy & Security

Can I export all my data?

Yes. Settings → Data → Portable Export creates an NDJSON archive you can move between Macs.

The portable export includes conversations, memory layers, Brain knowledge graph, workflow definitions, and agent configurations. Output is NDJSON in a versioned format. Importable on any other OMEGA install. Useful for migrating Macs, backups, or GDPR data portability requests (where you're the subject).

Privacy & Security

How do I delete my data?

Quit OMEGA, then delete ~/Library/Application Support/OMEGA/. Account data on our servers can be deleted via /contact?topic=privacy.

Local data: drag the OMEGA Application Support folder to Trash. Empty the Trash. Use a secure-delete tool if you want overwriting. Account data on the central licensing server (your email, your verified phone number where phone verification was required, entitlement metadata, billing info via Stripe) can be deleted via a privacy request through /contact?topic=privacy. Some billing data must be retained for tax/legal reasons (typically 7 years per state law). If an account was banned for fraud or abuse, the verified phone number itself stays on a blocklist so it cannot be reused for a new account; nothing else is kept with it.

Troubleshooting

macOS says "OMEGA can't be opened because Apple cannot check it"

You downloaded an old or third-party copy. Re-download from the link in your welcome email; current builds are signed and notarized.

All current OMEGA builds are signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. If Gatekeeper blocks, you have a stale or third-party download. Solution: delete the .app, click the download link in your welcome email (or sign in to /account → Downloads), and try again. If a fresh download still fails, contact support. There may be a Gatekeeper cache issue we can help you clear.

Troubleshooting

Model calls are failing with 'Invalid API key'

Your provider revoked the key, your billing lapsed, or there's a typo. Re-paste the key in Settings → Models → Cloud Providers.

OMEGA validates each key on save. If a key starts failing later, check: (1) the provider's dashboard for the key being active, (2) your provider's billing status, (3) any rate limits hit. Fixing any of these requires no OMEGA action. Just go to your provider and resolve. OMEGA doesn't see your keys, so we can't troubleshoot them on your behalf.

Troubleshooting

License activation is failing

Check your internet (the license server requires connectivity), sign in with the exact email used at checkout, and confirm Authorized Device count.

Activation requires connectivity to central.myomega.ai. If you have firewall rules, allow https://central.myomega.ai:443. If you've maxed your Authorized Devices, deactivate one from /account first. Activation is tied to your OMEGA account, so make sure you sign in with the same email used at checkout; check /account to confirm your plan is active. If all else fails, contact support with your order number.

Troubleshooting

OMEGA is using a lot of CPU/memory

Likely a local MLX model holding weights in memory. Switch to a smaller MLX model or shift heavy reasoning to BYOK cloud, Codex/Claude subscription routing, or another configured runtime.

Apple Silicon makes local inference fast but it's still memory-hungry. A 7B-parameter MLX model in 4-bit quantization needs about 4 GB of unified memory; an 8x7B Mixtral can need 30 GB+. If your Mac is struggling: Settings → Models → reduce HEAVY tier to a smaller MLX model, or assign HEAVY to BYOK cloud, Codex/Claude subscription routing, or another configured runtime where the compute happens elsewhere. Quit unused apps. Check Activity Monitor for the omega-mlx process specifically.

Troubleshooting

How do I report a bug?

Settings → Help → Report Issue. Includes diagnostic logs (you choose what to send). Or email support with steps to reproduce.

The in-app bug reporter scrubs PII and lets you preview exactly what will be sent before sending. Or email support directly via /contact?topic=support with: macOS version, OMEGA version, steps to reproduce, expected vs actual behavior. Screenshots help. If the bug is security-related, please use /contact?topic=security instead so it's handled through responsible disclosure rather than the general queue.

Troubleshooting

Why is activation failing on my VPN?

Use of OMEGA over a VPN, proxy, Tor, or anonymizer is strictly prohibited. Disconnect your VPN before activating or using OMEGA.

OMEGA's license server logs IP addresses for license verification and fraud prevention. Known VPN, proxy, datacenter, hosting, and anonymizer IP ranges are blocked at the licensing layer and will refuse to issue or validate a license. This applies to all forms of IP masking: personal VPN apps, browser-extension VPNs, Tor, public anonymizer services, and rerouting proxies. Disconnect from your VPN, then retry activation. If your employer mandates an always-on corporate VPN as part of a security policy, you can request a corporate-VPN exception (with the static egress IP range) via /contact?topic=legal. Personal-use VPNs are not eligible for exceptions. Note: connecting via VPN to evade enforcement is a material breach of the License Agreement and may result in permanent account ban without refund.

For account-specific issues, billing, or anything OMEGA’s built-in AI support can’t resolve in-app. OMEGA is founder-led: no ticket tiers, no outsourced queue. Email support typically replies within one business day, prioritized by plan: Core is community-supported, Pro gets email support, Team gets priority support, and Enterprise gets 24/7/365 support under its agreement.
